In what has been described as ‘a landmark moment for hospitality in Scotland’, Seaton House hotel, located alongside the first tee and 18th green of the Old Course at St Andrews, has opened its doors to guests.
The result of an extensive renovation of what was once known as the Scores Hotel, the new venture has 42 luxury bedrooms, including six suites and three junior suites, plus a range of dining options, curated by Chef Patron Roy Brett.

Seaton House is operated by Valor Hospitality Partners, a full-service hotel management company in partnership with the US based owners, Links Collection.
Seaton House general manager Michael Davern said: “Seaton House is a special hotel which will captivate the hearts of our guests who stay with us. After a period of refurbishment and fit out we are thrilled to be open and to see guests enjoy this fabulous place.
“Throughout Seaton House, guests will discover the lengths we have gone to in the renovation of this historic building, to ensure the hotel honours that heritage while incorporating many modern and softly Scottish features.

“St Andrews is one of the most beautiful places in the world and is revered by golf fans globally,” said Davern.
“Seaton House fits seamlessly into its surroundings providing the perfect base to explore all that this town and indeed the whole region has to offer.
“Our fantastic location and overarching guest experience will ensure we are perfectly placed to provide exquisite Scottish hospitality both now, and for guests enjoying the 155th Open Championship when it tees off on the iconic Old Course at St Andrews in 2027.”

Chef Roy Brett has brought his Ondine Oyster & Grill restaurant to the new hotel, and will also oversee the food offering in The Board Room bar.
The Seaton House operation is employing 60 staff, and said it was working with local food, drink and experience providers, and its local community, to ‘deepen relationships’ with people and businesses right along the Fife coast.
