Isle of Harris Distillery found itself mingling with the Hollywood elite at the recent Golden Globes Awards 2025.
The distillery’s Isle of Harris Gin and new single malt whisky, The Hearach, were included in the exclusive $1 million gift bags presented to the entertainment industry event’s winners and presenters.
This fantastic piece of product placement recognition comes as the Hebridean distillery pushes to grow its presence in the US market, having only entered in Spring 2021.
Partnering with importer MISA Imports, Isle of Harris Distillery is poised for further expansion across the US in 2025, building on the Golden Globes and its success at events like the new York City Tartan Week in 2024.
Returning to the UK from the Golden Globes TV personalities Lorraine Kelly and Ross King named Isle of Harris Gin and The Hearach as the top items to be found in the event gift bags.
King noted: “You get all those amazing things, and then you get something which is even more amazing – Isle of Harris Gin and they’ve got the new whisky now called The Hearach.
“So, there we are, they were both in the bag. How brilliant, Isle of Harris getting in there, well done to the team!”
This year’s centrepiece gift bag – an Atlas Bespoke Weekender Bag – was crafted for the 82nd Golden Globes in collaboration with Robb Report.
“It’s a privilege to collaborate with the Golden Globes in creating a one-of-a-kind gift that mirrors the prestige and glamour of Hollywood’s Party of the Year,” said Robb Report president, Luke Bahrenburg.
“This year’s collection embodies the pinnacle of luxury, offering recipients an extraordinary journey through bespoke craftsmanship, exclusive experiences, and iconic brands that define excellence. Every detail reflects our commitment to celebrating the best in class, from meticulously curated travel adventures to rare, indulgent treasures.”
This effusive Hollywood attention tops off something of a golden streak for the Isle of Harris Distillery and The Hearach.
At the Scottish Whisky Awards 2024, The Hearach won in both the Newcomer of the Year and Product Launch of the Year categories, and Isle of Harris was then named Scottish Whisky Distillery of the Year for 2024.
The distillery was commended for leading with vision, and its commitment to ‘community and local partnerships’.
Isle of Harris Distillery was previously awarded Scottish Gin Distillery of the Year at the Scottish Gin Awards in both 2018 and 2021.
Managing director Simon Erlanger said: “Winning these prestigious awards is a truly special moment for us.
“The Hearach has been a long time in the making, and to see it so well received by industry experts is a testament to the dedication and craftsmanship of our incredible team.
“Each bottle reflects the unique character and spirit of Harris – our island, our people, and our heritage. These accolades inspire us to continue creating exceptional single malts that share the story of this remarkable place with whisky lovers around the world.”
