Skye’s Edinbane Lodge moves up La Liste’s Top 500 of world’s best restaurants

Edinbane Lodge, on the Isle of Skye

Skye’s Edinbane Lodge has been recognised for the second consecutive year in the World’s Top Restaurants La Liste 2025.

Run by Chef Patron Calum Montgomery, the restaurant with rooms has gone up the rankings, gaining 3.5 points on last year, to place 19th amongst the UK’s top restaurants, alongside only nine restaurants in Scotland and amongst the top two to be within the worldwide Top 500 on La Liste.

Montgomery said: “My mind is blown. A score of 89.5 is incredible. To be in La Liste at all is insane, I am hugely honoured.

Chef Patron Calum Montgomery

“Placing us amongst the top two in Scotland and 19th in the UK, side by side with the very best restaurants in the world is just amazing. I’m so proud of our entire team and what we’ve built on and achieved this year.”

Edinbane Lodge’s multi-course tasting menu celebrates the Isle of Skye’s natural larder together with an appreciation of culinary traditions and heritage.

Calum, who was born and raised on Skye, sources produce from a community of family and friends, who share the same values and commitment to the produce and make the most of the island’s crofts, seas, and artisan production.

Inclusion on La Liste follows other accolades for Calum and Edinbane Lodge, including four AA Rosettes, ‘Exceptional’ rating in the Good Food Guide, awarded the ‘Best Dining Experience’ in the Highlands and Islands Thistle Awards by Visit Scotland, ‘Scottish Chef of the Year’ at The Scotsman Scran Awards and the ‘Restaurant of the Year’ at the Scottish Excellence Awards.

Other top Scottish restaurants that made La Liste included Glenturret Lalique, Inver, Restaurant Andrew Fairlie, Cail Bruich and The Peat Inn.
