Independent restaurant owners Joe and Amalia Lazzerini will this month expand their gastropub brand The Loveable Rogue with a third site in Glasgow.

Complementing their two successful Rogues in the city’s East and West Ends, The Loveable Rogue Southside will open on Nithsdale Road, in the trendy Strathbungo neighbourhood, on Thursday October 17th.

The Loveable Rogue’s renowned Sunday roast

The entrepreneurial couple aim to offer a ‘flexible, relaxed, cosy and accessible neighbourhood restaurant where everybody is welcome’, with a family-friendly menu offering home-cooked comfort food such as Roast Lamb Rump, Chicken Kiev, Ox Cheek Pie, or traditional Sunday afternoon beef roasts, alongside a wide selection of wines, locally brewed ales, beers, spirits and classic cocktails.

Chef Joe likes to offer guests his own twist on family favourites and traditional recipes including Ham Hough, Cote de Bouef, Pan Roasted Scallops, Rogues Fish and Chips, Pan Fried Gnocchi and Monkfish Cheek Scampi.

A speciality will be The Loveable Rogue Southside Sunday feast, which will emulate its West End and East End location by being ‘the king’ of the weekend menu.

Joe said: “We will provide hearty, simple, and delicious meals that everyone can enjoy. Along with Rogue’s heartier dishes, we bring our renowned Sunday roast to the community, which is served all day every Sunday.”

Co-owner Amalia said: “By combining our focus on comfort food with friendly neighbourhood service, The Loveable Rogue Southside will offer a lively yet calm eating environment. Strathbungo, renowned for being one of the hippest areas in the city, makes this Southside gem a great location for our third Rogue.”

For the neighbourhood hangout vibe, the interiors will be ‘homey and earthy’, with a mix of exposed brick and beams, comfy furnishings, alongside an outdoor seating area with 20 covers for warmer weather dining and drinking.

The Rogue’s Cote de Bouef

The Loveable Rogue Southside plans to create eight new jobs, and will be open Tuesday to Saturday from 12pm – late for a la carte dining, and Sundays 12pm – 9pm for that all day Sunday Roast.

The 40-cover venue at 122-124 Nithsdale Rd was formerly home to the Sur Lie restaurant.
