Drinks wholesaler Master of Malt Trade has taken gold at the e-Commerce Awards for running the Best business-to-business Website of the Year.

With a finalist list that included Toolstream and Heineken UK, these independently judged awards recognise excellence in the world of eCommerce across all industries, celebrating the most innovative and market leading initiatives and products in the online retail space.

The accolade comes after the wholesaler – and the industry it serves – has weathered a rough number of years, with Brexit and Covid taking their toll on everything from staffing to stock holding and cash flow.

Master of Malt Trade is said to have focused on responding to these challenges by offering ‘flexibility, simplicity and responsiveness’ in its trading platform.

The judges said: “This was an exceptional website with lots of great features, benefitting from excellent content and organic value”.

They also commended how ‘people-centric’ the website is, taking into account diversity of product, value of offering to trade, as well as accessibility requirements.

Over the last year, Master of Malt Trade has also rolled back all alcohol duty increases on pricing for August 2023, to mitigate Government reforms; launched the Master of Malt Trade Round Table Series to facilitate open dialogue and conversations between suppliers and trade; and created a new way to recognise those stars of the hospitality industry who might otherwise get overlooked, The Clubman Award.
