RED Sky Bar sitting pretty amongst the World’s Top 50 Rooftop bars

For the second year running, Radisson RED Glasgow has been named as home to one of the World’s Top 50 Rooftop Bars.

This prestigious list is compiled by international digital signage company Mandoe, based on actual guest and visitor reviews of the venues involved.

The RED Sky Bar sits on top of Radisson’s Clydeside building and looks directly over the SEC Campus, and its neighbours the OVO Hydro, Armadillo, Finnieston Crane and the North Rotunda, which it has recently acquired as a sister venue.

Hotel curator Graham Chalmers said: “We are very lucky that our hard work is recognised so often with awards – but this placing means more than most because it comes from public customer reviews.

“We work hard to keep our whole operation ahead of the game, but the RED Sky Bar is our flagship,” said Chalmers.

“We’re proud to host globally-recognised club nights and events in our glass box in the sky – again now itself a globally-recognised venue.”

Graham and his team have welcomed performances from the likes of Callum Beattie, Tom Walker and Marti Pellow, as well as some of the ‘biggest DJs on the planet’, including Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Dave Seaman and Guy J.

The RED Sky Bar has several resident event brands like in-house creation Skyline, George Bowie’s Generation GBX, global brand HedKandi, plus DJ superstars Jon Mancini and Michael Kilkie with their events Guilty Pleasures and Electric Dreams.

Graham added: “The support from our international artists is unbelievable – they literally text me asking can they come back to play again.

“Thank you to everyone whose reviews contributed to this and to our owners for their unwavering encouragement and giving us the freedom to try new things and break boundaries.

“My team of staff work super hard to make all of this happen and ensure our guests are happy, so it’s great to see this positivity from people who’ve stayed with us.”
