Promising the world’s best whisky distillers united under one roof, within a few miles of their home distilleries, Spirit of Speyside has this week released tickets for its annual Distilled tasting event, taking place this year at Elgin Town Hall on the 6th and 7th of September.

Following this spring’s successful Spirit of Speyside Festival, its 25th anniversary celebrations will continue with the two-day spirits event, sponsored by Howdens, where alongside the central whisky offer, guests will have the chance to enjoy a variety of rum, gin, vodka, cocktails and craft beers, as well as food from Speyside.

Speyside is currently home to 51 distilleries, and the Distilled sampling hall will host more than 20 stands where visitors can enjoy a dram and speak to some of the biggest global players in the industry.

Distilleries and blenders taking part include Glenfiddich, The Glenlivet, Balvenie, The GlenAllachie, Gordon & MacPhail, Cardhu, Strathisla, Murray McDavid and Duncan Taylor Scotch Whisky.

It’s not all about whisky… there will be plenty for fans of white spirits

For gin fans, Caorrunn, Gordon Castle and Red Door gins will also be pouring samples, while the event’s tap room will again be run by Against the Grain Beer Emporium, offering a wide selection of Speyside craft beers.

Connoisseur Masterclasses with Gordon & MacPhail and Speyburn will take place for 45 minutes each on the event’s Friday night, then Saturday afternoon is hosted by Chivas Brothers and Glenfiddich. Saturday night, Cardhu, who celebrate their 200th anniversary this year, will finish the event off.

Chairman of Spirit of Speyside, George McNeil, said: “Our 25th anniversary continues where we showcase the very best of the region’s food and drink scene in one venue.

“Following record ticket sales for the Festival in May, this is now a chance for us to profile some of the globally renowned distilleries alongside hand-crafted companies creating small-batch products where together, they show the diversity of Speyside produce.”
