Do you consider yourself an adventurous bartender? If so, why not take a crack at winning an all-expenses trip to the Himalayas to forage for cocktail ingredients?
Hapusa Himalayan Dry Gin has launched the Forager’s Championship – a peer judged cocktail competition, open to entrants from India, Italy, the UK and Thailand.
“This is not merely a competition; it’s a celebration of creativity, storytelling, and the beloved gin, Hapusa, emphasising the use of locally foraged ingredients to craft innovative cocktails,” said Deeksha Kamath, brand manager for Hapusa.
Entry is simple – bartenders need to submit the recipe and inspiration for their unique cocktail here before the 15th of May. Each needs to feature Hapusa Himalayan Dry Gin and at least one foraged local ingredient, from wherever they live, to win over the ‘judges’ (who happen to be their fellow competitors).
“Bartenders from India, Italy, UK, and Thailand are invited to showcase their prowess,” said Kamath. “We believe that ‘The Forager’s Championship’ offers a fresh perspective on bartending competitions, focusing on community and collaboration.”
The grand prize is an all-expenses paid four nights/five days journey to the Heart of Hapusa, in The Himalayas.
This journey will include exploration in the Himalayan outdoors, foraging for ingredients to craft cocktails inspired by the region’s heritage, and then a takeover at one of India’s best bars, where the winner can share their creations with a wider audience.
There will be a UK championship held in June, with the winner then joining fellow champions in The Himalayas. For more details and how to enter, head here.
