LOCH Lomond’s five-star luxury resort Cameron House has launched a new Italian restaurant, La Vista, offering modern all-day dining alongside a deli and food shop.
Formerly The Boat House, the resort invested £2million to transforming its lochside restaurant into ‘a modern, light and airy dining space’ with a 138-cover restaurant, plus an informal Mercato with a dining area for 50 guests, and a private dining room for up to 24 people.
An al fresco terrace due to launch in the summer will provide an additional 120 covers.
La Vista’s interiors, by BJM Design, make the most of the panoramic views of the loch with floor-to-ceiling windows, whilst other features include a marble topped bar, booths, café-style tables and a mix of pendant lighting.
Open seven days a week, from breakfast through to dinner, head chef Mark Pawsey’s main menu is said to celebrate authentic Italian cuisine and feature dishes rooted in ‘traditional recipes executed with modern flair’.
The menu is divided into small aperitivo plates and cicchetti, larger signature mains, handmade pastas and wood-fired pizzas cooked in a Valoriani oven. Classic signature mains include Grilled Swordfish with Artichoke Tapenade, Deep Fried Anchovies and Caper Berries; and Chicken Milanese Spaghetti Napolitana.
Accompanying this menu is a list of crafted cocktails and spritz, including a dedicated negroni menu with eight variations of the classic red tipple and an extensive wine list.
Alongside, the Mercato offers an array of ‘impeccably sourced’ artisanal Italian produce and bespoke hampers, from store cupboard ingredients such as olive oils, pesto, rice and vinegars through to cured meats and Italian cheeses alongside wines from 200-year-old winemaker, Tosti1820.
Resort director Michael Lavizani said: “We are delighted to unveil our newest dining experience, La Vista, at Cameron House. Reflecting on the rich history of the estate, the restaurant takes inspiration from the breathtaking vistas of Loch Lomond and the adventures of Tobias Smollett, the renowned Scottish author whose family once owned Cameron House hotel.
“La Vista celebrates the vibrant culinary heritage of Italy, curated by our skilled chefs and management team. Open daily to both guests and locals, we look forward to bringing a touch of la dolce vita to the resort.”
La Vista joins the resorts other dining outlets including The Cameron Grill, The Tavern, The Clubhouse, The Monarch Room, Lobby Bar and award-winning Great Scots Bar.
