Bringing Burns Night up to date with contemporary Scottish culture

Platform One, the new incarnation of the Glasgow city centre space formerly known as The Arches, is getting its 2024 programme of events off to an ambitious start with a series of evenings intended to reinvigorate the concept of Burns Night.

Running from Thursday 25th to Sunday 28th of January, from 4pm until late, Platform One will be adding a contemporary twist to Burns season with live performances from local artists, themed cocktail creations and limited edition dishes that ‘dare to be different’.

Shining a light on Glasgow’s thriving music scene, the entertainment will come from buskers and local artists like funk sensation Tom McGuire, soul singer David Duffy, and folk singer Michael Cassidy.

Suitably Scottish dishes have been created for the occasion by Platform One head chef, Jules McGuire, including Haggis, Neeps & Taco, Haggis Bon Bons, and Irn Bru Glazed Chicken Sliders.

Guests will also be able to enjoy an exclusive Scottish whisky flight that encompasses Scotland’s diverse landscapes, from the Lowlands with Glengoyne 10, to the Highlands with Dalmore 15, to the Islands with Talisker 10, only available as part of next weekend’s Burns festivities.

Platform One and the broader Platform venue is now in the hands of events company Camm & Hooper, which already operates a portfolio of unconventional London venues – the Banking Hall, the Victorian Bath House, Jeru Mayfair, the Tanner Warehouse, OXO2, and 26 Leake Street.
