Perthshire’s Killiecrankie House named as UK’s best ‘gourmet bolthole’

Up against a ‘who’s who’ of hospitality industry names, Pitlochry’s ‘fine dining restaurant with rooms’ Killiecrankie House has topped the Gourmet Bolthole category of the 2023 Food & Travel Readers Awards.

Chef and co-owner Tom Tsappis attended a black-tie dinner held at London’s Royal Automobile Club, Pall Mall, where he accepted the award on behalf of the entire team at the popular Perthshire establishment.

The other category finalists on the night were The Black Swan (Oldstead), Bull & Last (London), The Loch & The Tyne (Old Windsor), Old Downton Lodge (Ludlow), Outlaw’s Guesthouse (Port Isaac), Padstow Townhouse (Padstow),The Queen’s Arms (Corton Denham), Restaurant Sat Bains (Nottingham), and Ynyshir (Eglwys Fach).

Commenting on Killiecrankie’s win, co-owners Tom and Matilda Tsappis said: ‘’We still can’t quite believe what’s happened. To win the Gourmet Bolthole award is just incredible, especially when we were up against a who’s who of industry greats.
