Sky Business offers free Ultra High Definition screens to new sign-ups

SPORTS fans going to the pub to watch a match expect the venue’s screens to be at least as good as their televisions at home, if not better.

New research, conducted by Ipsos in September, found that no less than 90% of pub-goers with an interest in sports have very high standards when it comes to picture quality, and a very similar 89% reckon that watching live sport on TV is a better experience if it is broadcast in Ultra High Definition.

With these results in mind, Sky Business is offering new customers – that sign up before October 31 – either a large free UHD TV or two small free UHD TVs when they take Sky Sports.

This offer follow’s Sky Business’s summer launch of the only dedicated UHD channels available to commercial outlets, and is part of the company’s wider push to encourage sports fans off their sofa and into pubs, bars and clubs.

Director of marketing at Sky Business TV, Tracy Harrison, said: “We know how important it is to provide the ultimate viewing experience in venue for both licensees and consumers.

“Watching together in hospitality venues has always provided an unbeatable communal experience when it comes to live sport and we want to ensure our customers are set up for success, helping to bring sports fans closer to the action than ever before with the best picture quality.

“This football season has already got off to an amazing start, and now the wider rollout of UHD gives consumers even more reason to visit the pub.”

Sky Sports offers UHD coverage of matches from the English Premier League, Scottish Premiership, Women’s Super League, as well as the F1 season finale and the PDC Darts World Championships.
