Japanese restaurant launches kids menu for summer holidays

Mikaku on Glasgow’s Queen Street has launched a brand new kids menu in time for the School Summer Holidays, complimenting the restaurant’s soft play area and extensive food and drink menu for parents.

The kids menu, consisting of healthy and popular Japanese street food all served together in a bento box, has launched with an introductory offer that one child aged up to 10 years old can eat free for every paying adult.

This ‘Kids Eat Free’ offer will run from Monday 26th June for one week only, whereafter the kids menu will be priced at just £6.

Mikaku is already a popular haunt for parents and their children, with its free soft-play area for children to enjoy as parents slurp a bowl of ramen – or perhaps a cocktail.

The menu was developed by Michelin-starred chef Stephen Donnelly, who retained two Michelin Stars during his tenure at Le Saint-James, Bouliac, France. It features mix-and-match popular Japanese street food including gyozas, chicken teriyaki skewers, katsu curry or ramen options, alongside fruit and vegetables.

Chef Stephen said: “Our most popular request has been a healthy kids menu that young ones will love coming back for, so that their parents can enjoy a great meal in wonderful surroundings – we hope we’ve been able to provide just that.

“We can’t wait to welcome families to Mikaku, whether returning or for the first time, to experience our truly unique restaurant.”
