Carlsberg Marston’s Italian beer brand, Birrificio Angelo Poretti, has announced a three year partnership with the Italian Awards, which recognise the best trattorias, pizzerias, restaurants and chefs in the UK Italian hospitality scene.
First launched in 2012, the annual competition invites consumers to nominate their favourites into a shortlist for finals that will take place in Leeds and Glasgow this year, in October and November respectively.
Famous faces previously involved in the event over the years include Frankie Dettori, Giuseppe Dell’Anno, Nancy Dell’Olio, Gino D’Acampo and Antonio Carluccio. Winners from previous years have included Pranzo Trattoria, Cucina di Vincenzo and Valentino’s.
Director of marketing for premium brands at Carlsberg Marston, Dharmesh Rana, said: “Partnering with the esteemed Italian Food Awards in both England and Scotland is a natural pairing for Poretti. With the brand’s provenance in Valganna, Italy and the Italian Awards’ rich history of supporting the best Italian businesses in the UK, we are aligned in bringing the best Italian beer paired with food to the forefront of people’s minds.”
CEO & Founder of the Italian Awards, Warren Paul, said: “The Italian Awards are delighted to announce our new exclusive beer partnership with Birrificio Angelo Poretti. With a unique brewing process creating a beer specifically made to be enjoyed with food, we can’t wait for restaurateurs across the UK to sample this amazing beer.”
This year’s English Italian Awards gala takes place on 8 October 2023 at the Queens Hotel, Leeds, followed by the Scottish Italian Awards on 26 November 2023 at the DoubleTree by Hilton, Glasgow.
