Leith’s floating Fingal voted into TripAdvisor’s Top 10 small hotels

Scotland’s only luxury floating hotel, Fingal, has cruised into the Top 10 of Tripadvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Awards 2023 for Best of the Best Small Hotels in the UK.

The Travellers’ Choice Awards are based on the quality and quantity of traveller reviews and ratings posted on TripAdvisor over the 12-month period from 1st January to 31st December 2022.

In guest reviews of Fingal, which is permanently moored at Leith, Edinburgh, its restaurant and concierge service were the most frequently mentioned highlights.

Launched in 2019, the former Northern Lighthouse Board tender was refurbished as a hotel by the award-winning team at The Royal Yacht Britannia, which is berthed nearby. Fingal is now a premium foodie destination, with an air of old-world Art Deco luxury ocean liner elegance.

General Manager Andrew Thomson said: “It’s an honour for us to have been recognised by our guests as ‘Best of the Best’ in Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards for the fourth consecutive year. Our team is committed to offering a world-class visitor experience for all our guests.”

Open to non-residents for Afternoon Tea, dinner and cocktails, Fingal’s Lighthouse Restaurant & Bar offers a choice of self-contained private dining booths for small pre-booked groups.

For those staying onboard, Fingal’s 22 luxury cabins are each named after Stevenson lighthouses. The venue is part of the PoB Hotels roster.
