Thomas Melville, of Melville Hotels, recently acquired the Royal Hotel in Thurso, a 103-bed coaching hotel in the busy local hub, right in the middle of the popular North Coast 500 tourist route.
The property was sold by Drysdale & Company on behalf of the MGM Muthu Hotel group. Melville Hotels has said that it will operate the Royal Hotel as normal for this summer, and then look to upgrade and refurbish it over the off-season at the end of this year.
