Operator’s call to Arms

The village pub has five letting rooms.

A VILLAGE pub on the North Coast 500 route has changed hands in a deal brokered by Christie & Co.

The Allangrange Arms in Munlochy on the northern shore of the Moray Firth was previously run under management and is said to represent a great opportunity for new tenant, John Lockhart, to further develop the business.

Recently refurbished, the pub comprises a 42-cover restaurant and public bar, as well as five en suite letting rooms. There is also a beer garden at the back of the property; and a three-bedroom manager/owner’s apartment in the attic level.

Tony Spence, licensed negotiator at Christie & Co who handled the sale of the leasehold for an undisclosed sum from an asking price of £25,000, said there is “significant potential” to expand the business.

“There is no immediate or local competition and the new owner will be able to build on its growing reputation for good food and high service levels,” he said.
