MYXD, the premixed cocktail brand launched in 2020 by Highland hospitality group Cru Holdings, is in new hands after the range was acquired by another group of Highland businesspeople.
The consortium of new owners includes businessmen John Murray and Royce Clark and Martin and Claire Murray – the owners of Dunnet Bay Distillers.
The change will mean that the 19-strong range of cocktails are now produced using Dunnet Bay’s spirits – which include Rock Rose gin, Holy Grass vodka and Mapmaker’s rum – as well as other Scottish-made products.
“We are all excited about taking an already well-known locally established brand and improving on the current range of products,” said Clark.
“Our vision is to have as many of the cocktail ingredients made in Scotland as we can and promote that here in Scotland, across the whole of the UK and internationally.
“The current situation in the hospitality sector with DRS on the horizon combined with general staff shortages makes MYXD an attractive and easy option to operators who wish to offer a premium cocktail product which allows staff to easily prepare consistent high quality drinks, eliminate wastage and return great profit margins.”
Cru Holdings, which operates a number of bars and restaurants in Inverness and Nairn, recently expanded into the events sector with the launch of Highland Cater Hire, in conjunction with equipment specialist KBE.
