EAST Lothian’s award-winning, family-owned bar and restaurant, The Mercat Grill, will be celebrating World Whisky Day on May 20th with a tasting event – both in person and online.
Those able to come in person will get a two-course steak dinner, followed by an entertaining and informative session talking through the tasting notes of the 15-Year-Old Balblair, the Arran Amarone Cask Finish and the Bunnahabhain.
Those joining online can pre-order a tasting pack with three 50ml bottles of the featured whiskies, and tune in from home via the Mercat Grill’s Facebook Live or YouTube channel, to hear the full stories of these fine Scottish single malts, from renowned whisky expert Neil Forbes and the Mercat Grill’s owner Graham Blaikie – himself a whisky aficionado and creator of the Mercurials Whisky & Cigar Club.
Mr Blaikie said: “We’d love to see fellow folks from the trade, who share our passion for single malts, come and join us and our customers, either in person or virtually for our World Whisky Day event on 20th May.
