Edwardian mansion hotel up for grabs in Moray

A NEW owner is being sought for an Edwardian villa-turned-four-star-hotel in Forres.

The Ramnee Hotel was built in 1906 as a private residence but now operates as an 18-bedroom hotel.

There is a traditional lounge bar, which features a large selection of Speyside malt whiskies, a restaurant which can cater for 35 covers and a function room for 96 guests.

The letting bedrooms, all ensuite, are split between classic rooms, superior rooms and master king rooms. There is also a two-bedroom annexe which is currently used for storage but could serve as staff accommodation.

As well as local attractions including Nelson Tower, Forres Golf Course, fishing in the nearby River Findhorn and Sueno’s Stone, a local pictish monument, the hotel is handy for nearby Elgin, Inverness and Aberdeen.

The property has a rateable value of £72,000 and interested parties will have access to trading information.

Christie & Co is seeking offers over £950,000 for the Ranmnee Hotel, which will be sold as a going concern, with staff transferred under TUPE regulations.
