GRACE NOTES, a new limited edition bottling of 10-year-old Teaninich Single Malt Whisky, from Glasgow-based independent bottler Caskade, has been released to mark 30 years of the city’s Celtic Connections festival.
Following on from last year’s Born in a Storm – a limited edition release of Orkney 13-year-old Single Malt in collaboration with Scottish Pop icons Deacon Blue – Grace Notes continues Caskade’s approach of selecting and releasing whisky that celebrates the drink’s unique relationship with musical culture.
Grace Notes, limited to 752 individually numbered bottles, is described as ‘a delicate marriage’ of whisky from three single casks, distilled at Teaninich Distillery, Alness in the Highlands of Scotland, and aged for 10 years before being handpicked by creative director of Celtic Connections, Donald Shaw, to celebrate the festival’s 30th Anniversary in 2023.
Gareth Croll of Caskade said: “The Teaninich 10-year-old has been chosen for its unique Highland character that is fresh, endearing and approachable, yet it is noticeably complex and robust for those with a keen eye for quality. The whisky originated in Alness, the gateway to the Highlands, and perfectly symbolises Celtic Connections and their attitude of going against the grain and exploring new creative territory across the past 30 years, and most likely another 30 to come.”
Mr Shaw added: “Much like the country’s musical traditions, whisky holds an important place at the heart of Scottish culture and Grace Notes makes for a fitting accompaniment to this momentous milestone for the festival.”
