Scotts Yacht Haven reopens after significant investment

One of Ayrshire’s top restaurants, Scotts Yacht Haven in Largs, has reopened its doors after undergoing a significant refurbishment.

Scotts Largs, operated by Scottish hospitality group, Buzzworks Holdings, closed on September 27 for a ‘thorough makeover’, modernising the restaurant in line with the groups’ prestigious portfolio, and officially reopened mid-November.

Designed by Scotland’s Jerry Thomson from 3 Design, the restaurant has been completely transformed. The addition of a rooflight within the main restaurant bathes the venue in natural light, creating a warm and welcoming interior for visitors.

The restaurant’s capacity has also been increased, with an additional 40 seats added, alongside booths to allow larger groups to enjoy a meal together.

A new 1000-litre aquarium is due to be installed in the coming weeks, providing a relaxed feel to the venue, in keeping with Buzzworks other Scotts restaurants, located in South Queensferry and Troon respectively.

The addition of a stylish new outside space, with a fully serviced bar area, complete with a retractable roof and glazing system, will ensure the perfect al fresco space for all year-round drinking and dining for both residents and visitors to Largs – and their dogs.

A new state-of-the-art kitchen has also been fitted, and the Buzzworks chef team worked up a new autumn menu, with fresh new flavours ready for the revamped restaurant opening its doors. An enhanced modern bar has been stocked with an impressive back gantry for great cocktails, craft gins and beers, alongside a large wine selection.

Buzzworks Holdings chairman, Colin Blair, said: “After 11 years of successful trading, we believed that it was the right time to reinvest and modernise Scotts Largs as part of our wider growth strategy.

“It’s a fantastic venue and we have retained elements of its original concept, but this investment has allowed us to really enhance the relaxed and enjoyable experience we offer to visitors, through an up-to-date interior, fantastic covered outside space and new kitchen.

“We want to give Largs and the local community a venue to enjoy and be proud of, with all the changes being made with our customers in mind,” said Mr Blair. “We look forward to welcoming guests to our stylish new Scotts Largs in the lead up to Christmas.”

As a result of the recent investment, Scotts Largs will be offering opportunities for locals of varying skill levels and experience to join the award winning Buzzworks team, recently named in the ‘Best Companies to Work For’ list.

A range of positions are available across the front of house and kitchen teams. Anyone interested or looking to apply at Scotts Largs, or any one of the Buzzworks venues across Scotland, should visit https://www.buzzworksholdings.com/careers or search for ‘Buzzworks People’ on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.
