Borders bar and deli on market

A BUSINESS in one of the oldest buildings in the Borders town of Peebles has been brought to the market by Christie & Co.

Occupying a property which dates from 1711, Coltman’s Kitchen, Deli & Bar features a modern deli counter, a main restaurant area with space for 70 guests, a small lounge with bar, and a fully-equipped kitchen.

Outside there is a south facing beer garden with its own bar and servery, which can accommodate around 80 customers.

The business has been under its current ownership for 12 years, and the selling agent says there is potential for the new owner to live on site by reconfiguring the second floor storage room and office back to owner’s accommodation.

Tony Spence of Christie & Co said: “Our clients have invested heavily in the business and this is reflected within its performance. However the deli is also well-placed for continued growth, which we are confident a new operator could achieve going forward.”

It is on the market at £650,000 for the freehold.
