Promotional shot of Mac Talla whisky bottle

INDEPENDENT whisky firm Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers has added to its Mac-Talla single malt range with the release of Mac-Talla Red Wine Barriques.

The Islay malt was fully matured in oak casks sourced from the Bordeaux region of France.
The company described the finished whisky has having notes of juicy red fruits, cacao and summer berries.

Morrison sales director, Niel Hendriksz, said maturing the spirit in red wine barriques has resulted in “an elegant, yet powerful dram with great balance of fruit and smoke”.

Mac-Talla Red Wine Barriques is bottled at 53.8% ABV, without chill-filtration or added colour.
