GLEN Moray will be the official whisky partner of Edinburgh Rugby for another two years after the company behind the Speyside single malt renewed its sponsorship of the club.
In addition to appearing on the club’s jerseys, the deal will see a new pop-up whisky bar appearing at the club’s home ground – the Dam Health Stadium at Murrayfield – on match days, as well as the launch of a new Glen Moray and Edinburgh Rugby Whisky Club, which will host a series of events and tastings.
James Collins, marketing manager of Glen Moray – which is owned by French spirits giant La Martiniquaise – said the club and the brand “have so much in common and this is a natural partnership for us both”.
“We are thrilled to continue our support for the club and in particular for the amazing community of fans that are at its heart,” said Collins.
“We have had some wonderful online events and competitions throughout the pandemic, but it is so good to be back at live games and have the chance to meet and share our whisky with fans in person.
“Having our new whisky bar up and running in the fan village will allow us to bolster even more ‘team spirit’ on match days, whilst the whisky club is going to be a wonderful way to bring people together around our shared values and the perfect partnership that is rugby and whisky.”
