Inverclyde producer sails in to Port

Inverclyde Gin
The new gin has an ABV of 55.9%.

PORT Glasgow-based drinks company the Start-Up Drinks Lab has introduced a new navy strength version of its Inverclyde Gin.

The limited edition Inverclyde Gin Port Strength is said to pay homage to the area’s shipbuilding past.

With an ABV of 55.9% in reference to the town’s Latitude 55.9°N, Port Strength is described as a “bigger, bolder infusion” of the coastal botanicals used in the original gin coupled with “a touch of ginger” resulting in the “renowned Inverclyde Gin taste with a smooth and punchy finish”.

Brand manager, Karis Johnston, said: “Our team are always coming up with innovative new quirky ideas for drinks and, after the success we’ve seen from the launch of our Costal Inverclyde Gin, we were really interested in developing the brand even further. The origin of navy strength gin has a strong storyline within naval history, so it was the perfect second launch for the brand to take on.”
