OPERATORS must apply via their local authority website for business rates relief for 2021/2022.

SLTN was contacted by a number of operators this week after some local authority websites had set different deadlines (ranging from 31st March to 9th April) by which businesses had to apply in order to receive the 100% non-domestic rates (NDR) relief for 2021/2022 announced by finance secretary Kate Forbes last month.

However, when contacted by SLTN, the Scottish Government said that while businesses must apply for rates relief there is no deadline for applications.

A spokesman said: “Those eligible for the 100% relief should apply through their local authority and most councils now have application forms available on their websites. There is no deadline for applications.”
