The bistro is set for a new lease of life

AN Edinburgh bistro is due to be relaunched as a seafood restaurant after changing hands for the first time in a decade in a deal brokered by The Restaurant Agency.

Bia Bistrot on Colinton Road was sold on behalf of Matt and Roisin Llorente to chef Stuart Smith, who has previously worked with Roy Brett at Ondine in Edinburgh and as head chef at Osso Restaurant in Peebles.

Smith is set to relaunch the space as Fin & Grape. “All food and wine will be sourced with sustainability and responsible production/farming methods in mind and we’ll be aiming to use small independent Scottish and British suppliers wherever possible,” he said.

Alan Goldie, director of The Restaurant Agency, said: “I am sure Stuart will thrive in this location as Matt and Roisin did and bring a new eatery to an area that has a transient population with so many students coming and going, and a strong and affluent residential neighbourhood which supports local businesses.”
