Aberdeen venues will close tonight as lockdown reinstated

PUBS, bars and restaurants across Aberdeen will have to shut tonight (August 5) after first minister Nicola Sturgeon announced the city will be put back into lockdown.

The move follows a “significant outbreak” of COVID-19 cases in the city this week, with 54 new cases identified since the weekend.

Venues will now have to close both their indoor and outside areas by 5pm today.

The lockdown will last for seven days initially but could be extended beyond that.
