Glasgow hotel to raise the roof again for The Ben

Radisson RED to stage two-day music fest for licensed trade charity

GLASGOW’S Radisson RED hotel is to host a two-day virtual music festival this weekend to raise funds for Scottish licensed trade charity The Ben.

Streamed live from the hotel’s RED Sky Bar via its Facebook page, RED FEST kicks off at 7pm on Friday July 10 with legendary Glasgow DJs John Mancini and Michael Kilkie playing a four-hour ‘Guilty Pleasures’ set – an eclectic mix of records and edits that the DJs are not typically known for which includes disco, ‘80s, soul and chillout.

Day two of the virtual event gets underway at 7pm on Saturday July 11 with an acoustic line-up including country singer Kevin McGuire, Johnny Mac & The Faithful, and The Fratellis.

RED FEST, the hotel’s final RED Stream event ahead of its planned reopening on July 15, will raise funds for The Ben and comes after its last virtual event – a DJ line-up on Friday July 3 which included the RED Sky Bar residents Hyslop and AusDisco as well as illyus & Barrientos – raised money for the licensed trade charity. The hotel has staged a further two RED Stream events since lockdown began, which raised £4000 for Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity and £4000 for Hospitality Health & SAMH.

Graham Chalmers from Radisson RED Glasgow said: “We are delighted to host another live stream event from our rooftop Radisson RED Sky Bar. It’s fantastic to be involved with an initiative that brings live entertainment to people in the comfort and safety of their own home, where they can watch the stream and enjoy a wonderful backdrop of some of Glasgow’s most iconic landmarks while supporting a very important local charity.”
