STAFF at Manorview Group have launched a virtual campaign to raise funds for children’s charity When You Wish Upon a Star.

Around 49 employees of the hotel group will walk, cycle and run a combined total of 4350 kilometres – the equivalent distance from Glasgow to Rovaniemi on the Arctic Circle  – to raise money for the charity’s annual trip which takes a group of children to Lapland. The team has so far raised £3390 for the cause.

A spokesperson for Manorview Group said: “Manorview have a long standing relationship with When You Wish Upon A Star and we are raising money to realise sick children’s dreams of seeing the real Santa by taking a plane full of kids next year to Lapland. The expedition costs £90K and with the squeeze on charity funding we don’t want to see these kids missing out.

“Our team is cycling, running and walking the full distance to Lapland – a whopping 4350KM through 11 countries. With your help we can raise the funds towards chartering a plane to make dreams come true.”

Donations can be made on Manorview Group’s Just Giving page.
