A COCKTAIL delivery app that allows customers to order drinks from ten different Glasgow bars will be donating proceeds from cocktails sold to trade charity The Ben.
The Glasgow Cocktail Collective launched its online store earlier this month at thebevystore.online. It has now introduced an IOS app, with an Android app due to follow soon.
For the first week of the app, 75p from every cocktail ordered will be donated to The Ben. After that there will be a brand-sponsored cocktail every week, the profits from which will go to The Ben.
Bars currently participating include: Vodka Wodka; Blue Dog; Tiki Bar; Kelvingrove Café; Five March; Redmonds; Phillies of Shawlands; Saint Luke’s; The Dam; and Raise the Bar.
Fraser McIlwraith, who is running the Glasgow Cocktail Collective through his drinks consultancy company, Dark Art Drinks, said: “Our short-term aim is to keep the bars and their drinks in people’s minds by delivering to their homes while they are locked down and our longer term objective is to arm the businesses with enough cash to finance their launch (once it is safe to do so).
“However, beyond the reopening of bars and restaurants, we intend to keep this platform going in order to supplement the expected reduction in income that the social distancing will affect.
“Cocktail home delivery could become the new norm.”
