STAFF at Harviestoun Brewery will be aiming for the dizzying heights of success this weekend as they embark on a charity climbing challenge in aid of the NHS.
The #amunroofstairs challenge takes place this weekend (May 1-3) and will see the team at the Alva brewery tackle the Scottish Munro Schiehallion by climbing its equivalent height of 1083m on their stairs at home.
The group – which reached the peak of Schiehallion in a charity climb last year – will each climb their stairs 361 times to complete the challenge and are encouraging others to conquer the indoor Munro with them to raise money for the cause.
A spokeswoman for Harviestoun Brewery said: “In 2019 the Harviestoun team faced the hard, fun and cold charity fundraising challenge of climbing our favourite Munro, and our lager’s namesake, Schiehallion. In 2020 we were going to make the charity challenge bigger and better but due to the current situation bagging another Munro outside is not possible… but what we can do is climb it safely inside our own homes.
“We want to get as many people involved as possible and to help raise as much as we can for the NHS.”
Participants can send ‘climbing’ selfies to the Harviestoun social media pages using the hashtag #amunroofstairs. Donations can be made at: https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fundraiser-display/showROFundraiserPage?userUrl=amunroofstairs&pageUrl=1
