Aberdeen hotel revamp in final stages

G1 Group is nearing the end of a six-figure refurbishment of its Palm Court Hotel in Aberdeen.

The £500,000 refurbishment programme commenced in October and is the venue’s first revamp in fifteen years.

Palm Court Hotel’s 23 bedrooms have been decorated with a blue and neutral colour scheme and feature new furniture and electronic appliances including USB charging points and wide-screen TV’s.

Features of the newly-refurbished bathrooms include rainfall showers, marble effect finishes, lighting from Pooky Lighting and bathroom products from the hotel company’s social partner, The Soap Co.

Attention has now turned to the hotel’s two largest function suites, which will feature redesigned bars, a neutral colour palette, and wood panelled walls; work on the two smaller function rooms has already been concluded.

Brian Hutchison, operations director for G1 Hotel Division, said the group has delivered a high-quality refurb during a particularly turbulent time for hotel markets.

Hutchison said: “Whilst many of our competitors have been unable or have chosen not to invest back into their properties of the city, due to the independent and entrepreneurial spirit of our parent company we are pleased to be able to significantly elevate the offer at The Palm Court to ensure it continues to remain a firm favourite for visitors from near and far for the foreseeable future.”
