Business flourishing for Edinburgh operator

DECEMBER was certainly the most wonderful time of the year for Signature Pub Group, which reported a rise in business over the festive period.

The Edinburgh-based independent multiple operator, which includes Cold Town House in Edinburgh and Glasgow bar and grill, The Spiritualist, in its portfolio, saw a 7% increase in trade in December compared to previous years despite each of its 21 venues across Scotland being closed on Christmas Day.

Louise MacLean, sales and marketing director at Signature, said: “Christmas is a key trading period for the industry so we put a lot of effort and investment into making sure our venues look the part and offer a warm welcome.

“It is very important to us that we give our hard-working staff the day off to spend with their families on Christmas – after all, we are a family business.”
