WORK to revive Rosebank Distillery after 25 years in mothballs is now underway.

Owner Ian Macleod Distillers, which bought Rosebank in October 2017, is carrying out a multi-million pound restoration and redevelopment of the distillery, which sits on the banks of the Forth and Clyde Canal between Glasgow and Edinburgh.

The new Rosebank Distillery will have a visitor centre and tasting room and is expected to attract 50,000 visitors a year to Falkirk; it is due to open and begin production in 2021.

Mike Younger, finance director at Ian Macleod Distillers, said: “Our vision was to bring this quintessential lowland single malt back to life – a dream that is now very much underway.”
