AN Italian restaurant on Leith Walk, Edinburgh has been given a whole new feel with a refurbishment, according to its owner.
Tony Crolla, chairman of the Vittoria Group, explained that La Favorita has been given a brand new kitchen and marble bar with the restaurant re-designed to have a lighter and more welcoming feel.
“The use of fresh vibrant exciting colours has greatly enhanced the overall freshness,” he said. “As well as a dramatic change to the exterior with a lovely heritage facade in teal with an abundance of new greenery and feature lighting.”
The new look is accompanied by a new menu. Dishes that Crolla said can be found in most Italian restaurants have been removed and replaced with pasta dishes that balance authentic flavours with modern and distinctive ingredients.
Crolla described it as: “Classic, rustic Italian dishes with a creative flair to appeal to the trends of a growing vegetarian, vegan and health conscious consumer.”
The pizza menu has been simplified and allows customers to ‘build their own’ with a choice of toppings as well as the introduction of a multi-grain and seed pizza base.
Crolla added: “La Favorita was the first pizzeria of its kind in Scotland to offer log-fired cooked pizza and in keeping with current and future trends, we believe our new menu and new look interiors will showcase the best of authentic Italian food and culture.”
