A LOCAL operator has taken the helm at the East Neuk Hotel in the picturesque Fife fishing village of Crail, ten miles south of St Andrews.
Named after the area, a collection of villages on the region’s coastline, which is described as a “true honeypot trading location”, the hotel comprises five en suite letting bedrooms, an “outstanding” public bar and cafè bar, as well as owner’s accommodation.
The hotel’s new owner has closed the business in order to carry out a refurbishment; it is expected to open next spring with a new-look restaurant and bar.
Barry McNeil, director of Cornerstone, which handled the sale, said: “The hotel had been owned by our clients for the last five years, during which time they had significantly upgraded the premises to a stylish boutique-style hotel with popular bar and restaurant. The East Neuk of Fife is one of the most sought after, in-demand trading areas of the moment.”
The property was sold from a guide price of £320,000; the final sale price was not disclosed.
