POLICYMAKERS have been urged to take “swift action” to defend Scotland’s local financial facilities following years of bank closures.
The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) made the call as The Scottish Affairs Committee at Westminster published a new report recommending legislation to prevent further branch closures.
The FSB’s Andrew McRae said: “Losing a local bank branch makes it more difficult to run a business, as well as leaving another ugly gap on a high street.”
