THE team behind Orkney Distillery is in high spirits after achieving a Five Star Quality Assurance award from VisitScotland – a year after it opened to visitors.
Situated on Kirkwall’s harbour front, the distillery and visitor centre is run by an 11-strong team, led by operations manager Katie Macleod; it offers distillery tours twice a day, which give visitors the chance to learn about the production process and sample some of Orkney Distillery’s spirits, including Kirkjuvagr Orcadian gin.
Katie Macleod said the distillery team is “extremely proud”.
“We try and provide an exceptional experience for everyone visiting the distillery and this recognition is brilliant for the team,” she said.
“It will hopefully help people to find us and we look forward to welcoming more visitors over the coming year.”
