PRESSED juice producer Cawston Press has added to its sparkling range with the launch of the new Sparkling Orange variety.
Cawston claims that, unlike other fizzy orange drinks, this one will appeal more to grown-ups.
Managing director, Steve Kearns, pointed out that the drink is made with squeezed oranges, bitter orange extracts, Seville orange puree, sparkling water with pressed apple juice to sweeten it.
He stressed that it contains no concentrates, no added sugar and no artificial sweeteners.
The orange drink joins Rhubarb, Cloudy Apple, Elderflower Lemonade and Ginger Beer in Cawston’s sparkling range.
Kearns added: “For many of us, the words fizzy orange bring back happy childhood memories. But to our adult palates, most of them taste syrupy and cloying.
“By swapping out the added sugar and fake stuff, and balancing sweet against bitter, we’ve given fizzy orange a much-needed makeover.”
Cawston reported sales of over 24 million drinks in 2018 and is predicting ÂŁ20m worth of sales in 2019.
