UNCONVENTIONALITY is at the heart of a major new marketing campaign for Sevillian strawberry gin brand Puerto de Indias.
The ‘It’s not pink, it’s Puerto!’ campaign launched with an ‘unconventional’ event which aimed to showcase the various serves possible with the strawberry-flavoured gin.
Forming part of a £2 million investment in the brand’s UK launch, the promotion is designed to position Puerto de Indias as ‘pioneers’ of the strawberry-flavoured gin category.
Margaux Maupate, brand manager for Puerto de Indias, said: “Strawberry gin is a growing trend on the continent and is set to take the UK by storm with the rise of pink gins in 2018. In the UK alone, flavoured gin drove more than half the growth in the market last year – and of that growth, 75% was the result of pink gins.
“Our ‘It’s not pink, it’s Puerto’ proposition establishes us as the original pioneers of what has become a hugely successful and popular category, and we hope that the brand can become as popular in the UK as it is in Spain.”
The 37.5% ABV gin is distributed in the UK via Indie Brands.
