Brian O’Shea is aiming to up the ‘real soda revolution’ with his new range of soft drinks

A SCOTTISH entrepreneur is looking to make his mark in soft drinks with the launch of a new range of craft sodas.

The Paisley Drinks Company was launched by Brian O’Shea, a former supermarket buyer who spent time at both Asda and Sainsbury’s.

He set up the company after securing a business start-up loan and has produced a range of four drinks: rhubarb cream soda; strawberry coconut soda; blueberry ginger soda and raspberry lemonade.

They are described as a blend of natural ingredients and Scottish spring water.

O’Shea hopes the range will be adopted both as drinks in their own right and as mixers.

He said: “This idea for a craft soda came to me when my wife was pregnant and was looking for an interesting, non-alcoholic drink when we went out to eat and we realised how limited the choice is.

Why should people who don’t drink alcohol have to be limited to a few dull options?

“We’ve seen the rise of craft beer and gin, but there’s nothing when it comes to premium craft sodas and why should people who don’t drink alcohol have to be limited to a few dull options on the bottom of the menu?

“The sodas also make refreshing alternatives as mixers to spirits too, and we are in the process of working with a mixologist to develop some incredible combinations.”
