Hola to Spanish watermelon gin

William Grant & Sons launches new Verano variant

Verano Watermelon
A fruitful addition: Verano Watermelon is said to be ideal for use in summer serves

SPAIN’S “relaxed lifestyles and colourful vibrancy” are said to have inspired the creation of William Grant & Sons’ latest Verano gin variant.

Bottled at 40% ABV, Verano Watermelon is described as a “sweet and refreshing” flavoured gin which is ideal for use in summer drinks.

It’s also positioned as a base spirit for sharing serves; William Grant & Sons suggests 200ml of Verano Watermelon, 800ml of lemonade, ice and chunks of watermelon alongside raspberries and mint to garnish.

Ifan Jenkins, UK marketing director at William Grant & Sons, said: “Through Verano we wanted to create a premium, yet accessible gin which introduces more vibrancy, informality and sociability into gin. We’ve been inspired by Spain and its relaxed lifestyle, colourful vibrancy and delicious fresh fruits, and are bringing this into gin.”

Verano Watermelon joins existing variant, Verano Lemon, which is described as “a revitalising and zingy blend of Spanish lemons, infused with extra lemon peel, creating a zesty citrus flavour”.
