SCOTTISH licensees looking to stock up in time for International Tequila Day (July 24) have more products to choose from this year after the introduction of Diageo’s Don Julio 70 to the UK.
The spirit, launched in the UK in May, combines flavours usually found in añejo (aged) tequilas with the fresh notes of the blanco (unaged) style.
It was created to mark 70 years since Don Julio founder Julio Gonzalez first experimented with making tequila. The new tequila was created by master distiller Enrique de Colsa, friend and hand-picked successor to Gonzalez.
