TEN young people have taken their first steps towards careers in hospitality via a training partnership.
Manorview Hotels & Leisure Group teamed up with industry body Hi! and its charity Action for Children to deliver the training programme, which gives disadvantaged young adults experience of working environments – allowing them to learn new skills, gain qualifications and improve their confidence.
The six-week training programme included practical experience at Manorview venues, culminating in a graduation lunch at the group’s Busby Hotel (pictured right). Four of the ten students have subsequently earned jobs with the group.
Manorview boss, Steve Graham (second left), said: “What’s most pleasing to see is how we can make a difference by working in partnership, and how much confidence the students gain from this programme.”
