What’s claimed to be Speyside’s first cask finish gin is now available to on-trade customers following the success of its first two batches, which were sold direct to customers.
Elgin-based Moray Distillery produces Avva Cask Finish – a limited edition 55% ABV gin created to honour the region’s rich whisky heritage by blending the flavours derived from bourbon casks with London Dry gin.
The six-month maturation in Kentucky bourbon casks is said to create a “honey coloured gin with sweet vanilla tones”.
Jill Brown, founder and distiller at Moray Distillery, said the cask finish gin “has attracted a lot of attention and new consumers to our brand”.
