Underground opportunity in capital

Baobab-Edinburgh
The venue has a large bar area and galley kitchen

OPERATORS keen to make a move into Edinburgh’s west end may be interested in taking on the lease of the former Baobab bar.

The unit, which is offered free of tie, occupies the basement of a traditional Victorian tenement on Melville Place and comprises a large open-plan bar area, which can accommodate over 80 customers, and a galley kitchen located behind the main bar.

Barry McNeil, director of selling agent Cornerstone, which is marketing the property, said: “This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated purchaser to acquire a high profile bar and restaurant in the heart of Edinburgh’s west end.”

A premium of £10,000 is sought for the leasehold, with a starting rent of £36,000 on a new full repair and insurance lease.
