Spicing things up

A RECENT refurbishment in Edinburgh was designed to achieve the twin goals of a welcoming environment that also increased dining space.

Dusit, a Thai restaurant on Thistle Street, was opened in 2002. For the refresh the owners wanted a design that retained the restaurant’s intimacy but also created a more spacious feeling.

Interiors specialist KI Commercial Interiors rose to the challenge by replacing and relocating the venue’s bar to create more functional space and creating a new serving area to improve the restaurant’s flow.

Fixed seating was added and feature walls were clad with mirror and noise-reducing panelling to achieve a stylish  look that also reduced noise.

Controlled lighting in the venue accentuates the restaurant’s colour tones while new under-floor heating has been installed to improve comfort for diners.
