THE owners of Annandale Distillery have acquired historic Dumfries pub The Globe Inn, ending eight decades of ownership by the same family.
Dating from 1610, The Globe was frequented by Robert Burns, and the poetry he wrote on the walls attracts visitors from around the world; the pub has been owned by the McKerrow family since the 1930s.
Annandale Distillery owners David Thomson and Teresa Church said they have “modest plans” for The Globe.
“When the opportunity to own The Globe came up, we leapt at the chance to be custodians of such a historically significant site,” said Church.
